Unlike many others on this website, I am just a regular person, doing average day to day work that I find important. While many people think that you have to be extraordinary to have an impact, I think that we all have the power to make great changes.
I have worked in various areas since graduating from high school in 2000 from Prince Edward Island, Canada. With my passion for youth engagement I was the Prince Edward Island Youth Engagement Coordinator for the Creating Local Connections Canada Project (CLC Canada) which is an initiative of TakingItGlobal.org (TIG).
With my involvement with TakingITGlobal I was also a panelist of the 2007 MESH Conference which is Canada’s premier technology conference where I spoke on the topic of “The Always-On Generation - What Do Youth Do with the Web?”
While attending the MESH Conference I received an odd request to be apart of a new project which then translated to currently having a blog featured on ShowYourRealFace.com. This was a whole new experience for myself, being selected out of four young Canadians who's interests and work would be featured to allow other youth to see that being normal doen't mean that you can't make a difference.
Throughout my experience working on an organic farm in rural PEI, traveling to the Dominican Republic and working with Fair Trade Coffee and Cacao collectives I have developed a strong connection with food security and environmental issues and currently sit on the Executive Committee for the Sierra Youth Coalition. While working as an International Development Intern with Rescue Mission Canada, I have worked with youth on the international scale and am now currenly living in England working on an United Nations Development Programme Youth Climate Change Project along with Peace Child International. I also had the amazing opportunity joining with other young Canadians on the Canadian Youth Delegation to Bali, Indonesia and attended the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change where I documented the youth delegation and the international youth climate movement.
In April 2008 I received training from Al Gore to present the Academy Award winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” and was a panelist during a round table discussion at The Royal Commonwealth Society along with Canadian environmentalist Dr. David Suzuki. Who's broadcast career and publications have had a manor impact on myself and many other Canadian youth who grew up watching and reading his
With the combination of being passionate about educating, inspiring and involving others and using technology and social networking tools, my commitment has proven that even with only experiential learning you can acheive great things and have an huge impact on those around you.

Hi Adam, just wanted to introduce ourselves over here at Reverb. We have had the opportunity to work with SYC groups in Toronto and Montreal over the last couple years when our tours have rolled through the Great North. Looks like you certainly keep yourself busy. We'll definitely let you know if any of our tours are stopping in PEI.
