Upon arrival in Madison we met up with our friends Andy and Chris Han and their mother Pam. We were all exhausted from the events of the previous days in Minnesota so nothing sounded better than resting and watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. The Hans set out an amazing spread of incredibly delicious foods the entire time we were there. In fact it seemed as though incredibly delicious food was the theme of Madison.

We parked next to the Madison Farmer’s Market and gave tours and talked to people as we often do but this farmer’s market was different than the others. This market sent my taste buds into overload. I soon learned why this part of the country was famous for its dairy products. Endless cheese samples awaited me at various cheese stands. The star of the market was the 12 year old Cheddar cheese which knocked me off my feet. Never have I tasted a more delicious cheese. One baker pulled out an tray of cheesy bread and urged Ro to try a piece that was left on the tray. Defenseless to the magical morsel, we bought a loaf for the bus. The numerous salsas, sauces, pestos and jams were also a force to be reckoned with.  All combined into a locally and organically grown masterpiece of a lunch.

On our final day in Madison, we caught a bit of the Olympics and then headed to our next event at the Dave Matthews Concert. We were set up inside the concert with a booth and outside with the Bus talking to concertgoers. We were working with a group called Reverb who works with musicians and bands to green the music industry and promote environmental sustainability. It was definitely a cool experience to show off the Bus and have DMB rocking out next to us.

Again I want to thank the Hans for being so generous and former Big Green Busser Elliot May with Reverb for helping to hook us up with the event at the concert. Keep an eye out for the next BGB playlist coming soon.
