NBA commissioner David Stern awarded Steve Nash for his outstanding community service and commitment by awarding him the J. Walter Citizenship award. Nash has set up the Steve Nash foundation, which focuses on giving money for research and equipment necessary in children's hospitals. He has focused on his home area of British Colombia but it has spread to other countries, largely in Paraguay as well.
