I am not one to peruse glamor magazines, but my adorable wife pushed an article in front of me this morning (yes, I'll admit it...Body + Soul) about a 25 year old Change Agent, Rebecca Kousky. Rebecca has it together big time, so here goes a nomination! Rebecca's (relatively) new site called NEST provides a boutique storefront for exclusive clothes, jewelry and other accessories created by women social entrepreneurs from places like Madagascar, Kenya, India, Brazil and Colombia, etc. Each time you buy from NEST, you are funding micro-loans for women in far flung places who have the raw talent but limited access to capital. Rebecca figured out how to mash-up her penchant for fashion and giving back by launching the site last August. She's helped nearly 50 women, sold a bunch of cool fashion that undoubtedly makes for great table talk, and is covering her nut as a part-time nannie. I am hopeful Rebecca will receive this nomination and post NEST as an Action Pack on Changents and her other favorite action opportunities on the Internet for providing women in developing countries a bit of much needed rocket fuel.
