Enter Kiva – a site that connects borrowers and lenders in developing nations. So far they’ve hooked up over 82,000 people and put more than 9 million dollars in the hands of small business. The site brokers these low or no interest loans using PayPal and users can contribute as little as $25 to the project of their choice. With over 62 formal partners providing these “micro loans” to borrowers and a delinquency rate that would make any major bank “green” with envy, Kiva, and the Flannerys, have a rosy future indeed.
